RATES

Location Recording: $60 per hour (Engineer incl.)

Acoustique Alkemie charges $60.00 per hour for audio recording and post-recording processing with a minimum fee of $300.00. The first 5 hours of total time is included in that minimum fee. What you witness in the recording session is usually but a small component of the time required in the process of making a finished CD. Most of our time and expertise goes into post-recording editing and mastering. That is where your raw recording is transformed into a listenable, interesting -- and saleable -- product.

A couple of very, VERY rough rules of thumb may be to assume the mixing, editing and mastering process will take twice to three times the time it took to record. If you spend 2 hours "laying tracks," assume there will be an additional 4 - 6 hours of charged processing time. Another way to estimate is that for every 2 minutes of FINISHED music time, estimate an hour of post-recording processing. This is not a promise; it could take more or less time. Just be aware that what you experience in the recording session is not all there is to it.

NOTE! Acoustique Alkemie's participation in the process often ends with the session; we hand over the music file tracks to you to complete in other facilities. This allows for flexibility in the use of the 5 hours of total time minimum.

*Travel and Accommodation*

We will determine if the project falls within our acceptable periphery and if it does, there is no sur-charge. However, many projects take us far afield and often over several nights; this naturally will incur both a travel cost and a pre-diem.

Careful discussions with Producer/Project Manager are the order of the day for any option..

All of these options are starting points, but you get the idea. We'll discuss and plan every detail; you don't like suprises and neither do we. We strive for the efficient organisation of recording sessions, using the highest quality analog and digital equipment with the objective of producing the best possible sounding results for the artist and their music.

Payment Process and Options:

We recommend that any session be considered at least 3 weeks before its due date; a project's success increases exponentially the further out the project is planned. We require a 50% deposit at the time a project's date and general option is determined.
